Ceramic Coating

What is the Purpose of a Ceramic Coating for Cars?

On the surface of every car is primer, a base coat of paint, and a clear coat which protects the paint from external elements. A ceramic coating for cars is a product that is applied to the surface of your car on top of the clear coat.

Essentially, a ceramic car coating is a second layer of skin on the surface of your car. It utilizes nanotechnology, which are tiny particles that come together to form a very thin and transparent layer that is completely invisible to the naked eye.

This layer seals the pores on your car’s paint, producing superior hydrophobic properties, as well as more resistant to ultra-violet rays, scratches, chemicals, and extreme heat. The ceramic coat forms a semi-permanent bond with the surface of your vehicle meaning that it will not wash away or break down over a short period of time.

Clay Bar and Wax

The difference between a ‘cleaner wax’ vs clay bar

The main difference between wax and a clay bar is that wax is first and foremost a protectant, while automotive clay is not.

While both of these products can clean to an extent, they serve different purposes. Clays are formulated to remove contaminants waxes can’t, while cleaner waxes are meant to protect, while also removing minor surface defects.

While waxes and clays can be used in combination, a vehicle should always be washed, clayed, compounded and polished (if necessary), and then waxed with a finishing (non-abrasive) wax. A cleaner wax really a polish/wax all in one, which is why many detailers specializing in high-end detailing don’t use it.

Remove Water Spots

What is Paint Correction?

Paint Correction is the process of leveling/removing swirl marks and scratches in the top layer of your paint’s finish. Properly using a machine buffer/polisher to remove defects in the paint such as bird poop, swirl marks/wash scratches, light scratches, scuffs, sanding marks, and water spots.

Paint correction must be done with proper lighting to see all defects in the paint and to determine whether or not they have been fully removed. When paint correction is performed properly, the paint’s color, depth, metallic/pearl and over all gloss is drastically improved.

Paint correction permanently removes defects from the paint’s surface.

Can I leave water spots on my car?

It's important to avoid water spots because they damage the paint on the surface of your car.

Compared to rust, tree sap, tar and other chemicals that contaminate your car's paint, water spots may seem like no big deal, but in fact, they are just as harmful, if not more. You may not realize it, but water is full of contaminants, pollutants, and debris that can very easily damage your vehicle.
